Job Summary
Investigate and adjust Professional Liability, Bond, and Cyber claims by reviewing coverage and liability, assigning cases to outside counsel, and developing litigation strategy to affect settlements and reserves. Ensure compliance with state, legal, and regulatory bodies while providing oversight to outside counsel and technical advice to lower-level positions. Mentor staff, prioritize assignments, and attend arbitrations, mediations, or trials as necessary. Work on-site four days a week (Tuesday–Thursday) with one remote day, based in Shaker Heights, Ohio, with flexibility for overnight travel. This role supports ABA Insurance Services' market-leading bank program, offering unique insurance solutions for financial institutions.
Required Qualifications
- 6-14 years of related claims or legal experience
- Focus is on Professional Liability, Bond, and Cyber products
- LLM (Master of Law) or JD (Juris Doctorate)
- Current attorney license
- Willingness to become licensed as a claims adjuster in all 50 states
- Must possess the skills necessary to conduct legal research
- Willingness to travel, including overnight travel as needed
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
- Employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week
- Core in-office days are Tuesday–Thursday
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the areas of litigation, insurance coverage (specifically professional liability, financial institution bond and/or cyber claims), or claims adjusting
