Job Summary
Handle and investigate complex disease claims, including asbestos, respiratory diseases, and noise-induced hearing loss, within your limit of authority while demonstrating accurate and timely reserving. Proactively interact with claimants, brokers, and external providers to ensure the best claim outcomes, while actively identifying and reviewing suspect or fraudulent cases. Support the Claims Manager by providing feedback on claims issues, wording, and market trends, and contribute to meeting department key performance targets. Adhere to regulatory frameworks and Treating Customers Fairly principles throughout all assessment and handling activities. Work primarily in the office in London as part of the Casualty Claims team.
Required Qualifications
- proven experience in an insurance or legal based environment handling some of the most complex disease claims including asbestos, respiratory diseases and occupational cancers but predominantly a caseload of noise induced hearing loss Claims
- a good understanding of the end to end claims procedures/processes
- knowledge using claims systems (including MOJ), excel and word
- Detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment within which such claims are handled
- Proven ability to make the right decisions on legal liability; damage assessment and assessing the need for investigation or rehabilitation
- Self-motivated, proactive team member, while taking individual responsibility for an allocated case load
- Good problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
