Job Summary

Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with leadership responsibilities leading projects across industrial infrastructure, site development, seismic retrofits, and facility upgrades. Responsibilities include performing structural analysis and design for steel and concrete structures, developing calculations, supporting seismic evaluations, preparing construction documents, coordinating with BIM/CAD teams, reviewing deliverables, scope development, and providing technical direction to other engineers and designers. Role requires ensuring compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements, participating in client meetings and site visits, and maintaining safety and quality expectations. Education and licensure requirements include a Civil/Structural ABET-aligned degree and PE license with potential licensure in WA. Travel to client sites is required; hybrid/remote work options available for certain proximities to Salt Lake City, UT.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET accredited preferred)
  • PE license required; ability to obtain WA licensure if not licensed there
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Civil/Structural Engineering for refining, oil & gas or related industries
  • Experience leading projects and supervising/mentoring other staff
  • Travel to local clients; occasional travel outside the area; ability to obtain security/badging as required
  • TWIC and safety/training requirements; background screening; random drug/alcohol program participation
  • Ability to work in-office 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs) at Ferndale, WA or Billings, MT; remote option within 50 miles of Salt Lake City, UT
  • Experience with seismic evaluations/retrofit design; experience with construction documents, BIM/CAD coordination
  • Strong communication and client coordination skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of building codes, seismic standards, and industry design practices
  • Ability to leverage AI tools in engineering workflows while maintaining accountability
  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship (no explicit sponsorship offered)
