Senior Civil Project Engineer - Aviation

Job Summary
Lead the technical execution of complex civil engineering projects from planning, design, and construction for aviation facilities, including airfields, terminals, and support infrastructure. Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and construction documents while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and client standards. Design and oversee site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, and pavements. Serve as a technical leader by developing innovative solutions, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring junior engineers. Perform periodic field observations to verify work conforms to design plans and assist with resolving construction-related technical questions. Prepare technical proposals and participate in client presentations to support business development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience in civil site design, land development, municipal infrastructure, transportation, aviation, or other horizontal infrastructure projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Previous aviation experience
- Experience with FAA standards
- Strong experience designing site grading, drainage, stormwater systems, utilities, roadways, pavements, and other civil infrastructure
- Experience using Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or comparable civil engineering design software
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing technical project delivery, and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, engineering standards, construction administration, and project delivery
- Excellent verbal, written, and client relationship skills
- Willingness to periodically travel to project sites to support construction observations and field activities
- Participation in professional engineering organizations
