Job Summary
Lead, mentor and manage CAD Technicians and Junior Technicians to deliver sustainable CAD and digital solutions across civil engineering projects; ensure technical excellence, QA compliance, and support development of the UK practice. Responsibilities include motivating and guiding the team, coordinating resource planning with senior engineering staff, conducting interviews and assisting in recruitment, fostering a collaborative environment, ensuring compliance with IMS quality processes (ISO 9001 & 14001), overseeing health and safety (CDM 2015), performing technical reviews, maintaining high-quality CAD output and documentation, leading drawing production in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (2D/3D modelling), developing masterplans across regeneration, aviation, infrastructure and industrial sectors, performing clash detection, coordinating below-ground design, attending project meetings, issuing drawing transmittals and monitoring CAD delivery schedules, applying BIM workflows and digital protocols (BS EN ISO 19650), contributing to CAD protocol development, and maintaining document control in accordance with project standards.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant degree or apprenticeship
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and 3D modelling
- Experience with BIM workflows and digital tools such as Navisworks, Infraworks, InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Proven experience delivering complex civil engineering CAD solutions
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
