Job Summary

Lead the growth of SEH's municipal civil practice in Austin and surrounding Central Texas communities by building trusted relationships with cities, utilities, counties, developers, and key stakeholders. Serve as a senior project manager and technical leader for public infrastructure and private development projects, developing scopes, schedules, staffing plans, and quality strategies while leading proposals, interviews, and client presentations. Recruit, mentor, and lead a local civil engineering team as backlog and market opportunities grow, working directly with senior leadership to define the Austin practice's culture, client strategy, and future team. Represent SEH through professional organizations and community involvement, utilizing existing momentum from federal experience and active regional growth plans to drive business expansion.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
  • Residence in or near Austin, TX
  • Willingness to travel throughout Central Texas
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and market expansion in civil engineering
  • Flexible and broad technical skills across civil infrastructure disciplines
  • Comprehensive understanding of public infrastructure funding—federal, state, and local
  • Demonstrated ability to build client trust and contribute to business development, proposals, interviews, and project pursuit
  • Strong understanding of the Central Texas municipal, utility, regulatory, and development environment
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Experience with team leadership and project management
  • Ability to build, develop, and guide engineering teams to achieve targeted business outcomes
  • Confident public communicator who can represent SEH to Councils, Boards, Associations
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead effectively in a growing office
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future

Desired Qualifications

  • Established relationships with municipalities, utilities, developers, or industry partners in Central Texas
  • Eight (8) years of hands-on experience as a high-performing civil engineer
  • Private/Industrial entitlement experience
  • Established partner network
  • Spanish bilingual
