Senior Civil Engineer - Remediation

Job Summary
Lead technical efforts on Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects by providing specialized input to studies and design, developing procedures for high-quality cost-effective work, and managing technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery. Perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings, prepare technical specification sections, and develop construction cost estimates and technical effort forecasts. Serve as a technical advisor to the team, participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, and communicate effectively with clients, site personnel, and office management while rigorously applying safety policies. Manage field efforts and project deliverables within AECOM's Quality Management System, utilizing expertise across all steps of the PS&E package.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 6 years of related experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state
- ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states
- Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
- Valid U.S Driver's License
- ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management

Desired Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
