Senior Civil Engineer - Remediation

Job Summary
Lead technical efforts on Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects by providing specialized input to studies, developing design procedures, and performing quality control reviews of calculations and drawings. Manage technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery while preparing technical specifications and contributing to engineering budgets. Serve as a technical advisor to the team, participate in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables, and communicate effectively with clients and site personnel. Apply rigorous safety policies and procedures while managing field effort quality within the AECOM Quality Management System. Requires a licensed Professional Engineer with CCR experience and valid U.S. Driver's License.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 6 years of related experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state
- ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states
- Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
- Valid U.S Driver's License
- ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management

Desired Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
