Senior Civil Engineer - Remediation

Job Summary
Lead technical efforts for Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects by serving as a technical advisor, developing study procedures, and performing quality control reviews of design calculations. Provide specialized input on PS&E packages, prepare technical specifications, and develop construction cost estimates and technical effort budgets. Manage project delivery elements including technical scope, cost, and schedule while rigorously applying safety policies and managing field effort quality. Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and communicate effectively with clients, site personnel, and office management.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state with the ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states
- Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
- Valid U.S Driver's License
- Must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team

- Ability to manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery
- Ability to effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System
- Ability to serve as technical advisor for team
- Ability to provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Ability to develop study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Ability to develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Ability to use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
- Ability to perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Ability to prepare technical specification sections
- Ability to provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Ability to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
