Senior Civil Engineer - Remediation

Job Summary
Lead technical efforts for Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects by providing specialized input to studies and designs, developing cost-effective procedures, and preparing technical specifications. Manage technical, cost, and schedule elements of project delivery while performing quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings. Serve as a technical advisor to the team, participate in interdisciplinary reviews, and develop construction cost estimates for PS&E packages. Apply rigorous safety policies and effectively communicate with clients, site personnel, and office management. Requires a licensed Professional Engineer with 6+ years of experience in CCR and landfills.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- 6 years of related experience
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in at least one state
- ability to successfully apply for reciprocity in additional states
- Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR)
- Valid U.S Driver's License
- ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
- Prepares technical specification sections
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management

Desired Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
