Job Summary
Senior Civil Engineer and Senior Project Manager for transit projects based in Seattle or Tacoma, WA. Leads multi-disciplinary design, provides oversight for planning, design, and construction, mentors junior staff, and drives business development and client management. Responsibilities include preparing progress reports, risk analyses, cashflow projections, coordinating design teams, leading the preparation of design and construction drawings, coordinating client management and marketing efforts for future work, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring quality and timely project delivery. Requires 10+ years of experience, BSCE, and WA PE license; proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D (MicroStation a plus); strong leadership, communication, and proposal/contract documentation skills. The role reports to VP/Managing Principal and involves salary-based compensation for full-time employment in Seattle or Tacoma.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State
- Minimum of 10 years of experience
- Experience with producing accurate and complete construction plans, specifications, and reports
- Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating engineering information clearly and concisely
- Ability to train/mentor staff and review work for quality assurance
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D; MicroStation is a plus
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Willingness/ability to assume increased responsibilities when presented
- Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients; develop relationships with clients
- Understand duties and responsibilities, possess necessary job knowledge and technical skills
- Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders
