Senior Civil Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct project planning and design by gathering data, performing field investigations, and developing design studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Serve as the technical reviewer for all project deliverables and design calculations within the Civil Engineering Group. Provide technical assistance and guidance to staff on construction management activities, including submittal reviews, requests for information, and change order processing. Offer mentoring opportunities for other staff members through cross training and succession planning. Requires 15+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and a PE license in Minnesota, Illinois, or Wisconsin. A valid driver's license and proficiency with Civil 3D, MicroStation, and stormwater modeling software are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of overall experience in the engineering field
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong technical design skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota, Illinois, or Wisconsin
- The ability to solve complex problems
- The ability to provide technical review of work completed by others, and to provide good Quality Control of submittals
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in other States; or willing to obtain. (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois are the highest priority)
- Additional certifications relevant to your area(s) of expertise and interest
- Proficiency with software used in civil engineering design. This includes: Civil 3D, MicroStation, Stormwater modeling software such as SLAMM, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, C3D Storm and Sanitary extensions, GIS, and Excel
