Job Summary
Conduct civil site development work for power plant projects, including preparing calculations for storm water drainage, sanitary sewer systems, and earthwork to support permitting and design. Design storm drainage systems, roads, trackwork, and wastewater disposal facilities, while preparing technical specifications and site layout drawings. Review contractor submittals for conformity with specifications and coordinate with project managers, clients, and permitting agencies to ensure timely delivery. Guide junior engineers on project work and lead teams in applying automation and AI tools to improve workflows and reduce rework. Perform field verification at plant locations and travel to client offices for design reviews. This role requires a PE license and experience in industrial design, with a focus on integrating modern engineering tools to deliver cost-effective solutions.
Required Qualifications
- BSCE from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
- PE license or ability to earn a PE license
- Five or more years of working in a project team environment in the design of industrial projects
- experience in site grading and mass earthwork
- experience in storm water management
- experience in sanitary sewage systems
- experience in process wastewater systems
- experience in road and railroad track design
- Experience in technical writing for reports, calculations, and specifications
- Experience in preparing, submitting, and obtaining site related permits from regulatory agencies
- Proficiency with one or more of the following civil engineering design tools: Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, and AutoTurn
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work in a team environment
