Job Summary
Conduct existing conditions investigations and prepare design documentation including specifications, drawings, and calculations for mission-critical facilities at Kirtland AFB. Evaluate project submittals, review construction plans for new and maintenance layouts, and participate in technical design reviews to validate requirements. Formulate corrective action measures regarding schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, and fund allocations while presenting briefings to government counterparts. Capture insights from internal meetings to synthesize draft deliverables and maintain a safe working environment. Requires a Professional Civil Engineer license, five years of relevant experience, and the ability to obtain security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Have or be able to obtain a Professional Civil Engineer License in one of the US states or territories with one year of hire date
- Minimum of five years' relevant experience, with preference for candidates with experience working at/for a military installation
- Commitment and capacity to work in a collaborative environment in support of Air Force mission in compliance with established DoD criteria
- Be proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 software suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Possess and employ excellent organizational and time management skills
- Be able to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision
- Be willing and able to work with customers and coworkers in a courteous, professional, and effective manner
- Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s)
Desired Qualifications
- Currently possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license in one of the US states or territories
- Five or more years of experience working in the engineering section at a major military installation, preferably a US Air Force base
