Job Summary
Direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs using professional judgment, while actively assisting or acting as Project Manager to assign tasks, schedule team members, and monitor progress. Check the accuracy of assigned work through formal and informal QA/QC, make major design decisions that meet external customer needs, and proactively identify technical, schedule, or financial issues for resolution. Monitor construction, supervise field personnel, respond to contractor questions, prepare project addenda, and recommend change orders. Assist clients in bidding or contractor selection, participate in engineering service proposals with cost estimations, and independently communicate technical matters with clients. Operate as a technical expert on assigned projects, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and other automation tools to solve routine and non-routine engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
- At least ten years of design/engineering experience in civil engineering
- Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software and other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360)
- Must be capable of correctly operating technical analysis equipment and computer equipment
- Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills, and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans
- Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities
- Must exhibit maturity, professionalism and a willingness to solve internal and external client problems
- Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff and external clients
