Job Summary
Senior Child Development Teacher at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. The Teacher co-protects and co-teaches within an NAEYC-accredited Early Childhood Development Center, organizing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum to support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of preschool children. Works as part of a team to provide a safe environment and aligns with center philosophy and NAEYC accreditation guidelines. Responsibilities include co-teaching with other educators, planning curriculum, and ensuring compliance with CA licensing and credentialing requirements. Required to have advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education and credentials, along with field experience and background clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Coursework/Training and 24 Semester units of Early Childhood Education including all CORE classes plus Infant and Toddler Development and Program
- Child Development
- Principles and Practices in Early Childhood Education
- Introduction to Curriculum
- The Child, Family and Community
- 3 units of Infant/Toddler Development
- Supervised field experience
- Current California Commission on Teaching Credentialing - Teacher Permit
- CA AB1207 Child Care Provider Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of college level training in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Master's Degree
- Background Check Clearance by the CA Department of Social Services
- No convictions related to child abuse or similar offenses
- 2 years of working with preschool aged-children
- 6 months of Supervised Field Experience in Early Childhood Setting
