Job Summary
Co-teach with other educators to provide a safe, secure environment that enhances a child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development within a National Accredited for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Early Childhood Development Center. Organize and plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the center's philosophy and NAEYC accreditation guidelines. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, a California Teacher Permit, and two years of experience working with preschool-aged children, including six months of supervised field experience. Candidates must also hold current child abuse mandated reporter training and pass background checks with the CA Department of Social Services and DOJ. The position involves 8-hour day shifts and is part of a Magnet journey hospital recognized for exceptional clinical quality.
Required Qualifications
- Coursework/Training and 24 Semester units of Early Childhood Education including all CORE classes plus Infant and Toddler Development and Program
- Child Development Principles and Practices in Early Childhood Education
- Introduction to Curriculum
- The Child, Family and Community
- 3 units of Infant/Toddler Development
- Supervised field experience
- Coursework/Training and Current California Commission on Teaching Credentialing - Teacher Permit
- Coursework/Training and CA AB1207 Child Care Provider Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of college level training in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Master's Degree
- Background Check Clearance by the CA Department of Social Services is required for this position (CPMB) Care Provider Management Bureau
- No convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons, sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances, or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions of duties of an employee of a child care facility
- 2 years of working with preschool aged-children
- 6 months of Supervised Field Experience in Early Childhood Setting
