Job Summary
Develop and optimize analysis processes and methods to ensure accurate, reliable, and efficient testing of raw materials, intermediates, and final products. Define sample protocols and analytical techniques suited to production needs, while identifying, evaluating, and selecting appropriate equipment based on accuracy, cost, and scalability. Oversee installation, calibration, and validation of equipment, establishing methods to meet regulatory and industry standards. Create standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance, and analyze data to monitor product quality and troubleshoot production issues. Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to align analytical processes with operational goals and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Ensure all processes adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards within the Uranium Product Center. Requires 10+ years in manufacturing process design, access to U.S. export-controlled information, and periodic travel under 10%.
Required Qualifications
- 4-Year Technical Degree in Engineering, Materials, Chemistry or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university. OR Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in design and development of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- 6+ years of experience with technical engineering work scope.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial process design or equipment design.
- Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
- Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
- Walk up and down stairs.
- Occasionally climb ladders.
- Crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching around manufacturing equipment.
- Uses computer equipment frequently with proven ability.
- Periodic travel required (<10 %).

- Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, analytical chemistry, and familiarity with laboratory equipment.
- Precision in designing, validating, and executing analytical methods to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain detailed documentation for processes and compliance.
- Knowledge and experience in nuclear fuel manufacturing safety and regulatory requirements.
- Clear and effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams, train personnel, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset to work with production, quality, and R&D teams to align analytical processes with operational goals.
- Proactive approach to researching new methods, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Certification.
