Job Summary
Senior Character Artist responsible for contributing to the art vision for characters, producing polished real-time assets (models, textures, shaders, materials), and ensuring performance requirements across platforms. Collaborates with concept artists, designers, animators, and technical artists to translate concepts into in-game assets, participates in reviews and iterative development, maintains technical quality and optimization, stays current with industry trends, and provides mentorship to junior and mid-level artists while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to maintain asset quality.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Character Artist within the video game industry
- Strong portfolio of real-time game assets
- Proficiency with Autodesk Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter
- Strong understanding of modelling, sculpting, UV mapping, texturing, anatomy, form, colour theory, and material creation
- Experience creating optimized assets for Unreal Engine or Unity
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and incorporate feedback
- Knowledge of game development pipelines and ability to adapt artistic styles to various genres and platforms
