Job Summary
Own the consumer electronics and radio product compliance and certification roadmap end-to-end across the Harmattan AI hardware portfolio; serve as the single point of accountability for determining if a product can legally ship in a given market, and build and lead the Certification function as the portfolio grows. Responsibilities include regulatory scoping for applicable directives and standards, planning and managing accredited test labs and notified bodies, authoring and owning evidence packages and Declarations of Conformity, ongoing surveillance and change-impact assessments, early flagging of compliance issues in design reviews, and partnering daily with UAS/RF/Engineering/Production teams to hand the certified design to manufacturing. Candidate must have deep experience with RED, EMC, LV, and Machinery Directives, FCC Part 15/90/95 as applicable, and proven ability to manage lab/notified-body relationships, with strong technical writing and program-management skills; English fluency is required and French is strongly preferred for the Paris site. Exposure to defense airworthiness standards is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 8 to 15 years in product compliance and certification at a hardware scale-up, ideally in a commercial drone/UAV company
- Direct, hands-on experience with the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), EMC Directive, Low Voltage Directive, and Machinery Directive and their harmonised standards
- FCC Part 15 and Part 90/95 experience where applicable
- Proven track record of managing accredited-lab and notified-body relationships (TÜV, UL, Intertek, Element, Eurofins, SGS)
- Strong technical writer; delivering evidence packages
- Programme-management mindset to track multiple parallel workstreams
- Experience shipping 2 to 3 multi-radio hardware products through full certification
- English fluency; French strongly preferred for Paris site and DGAC interface
- Defense airworthiness exposure a plus with room to grow
