Job Summary
Deliver a variety of services to senior citizens by managing programs, activities, and the meal service. Transport clients to and from the center and excursions in a senior bus, assisting with boarding. Provide general office support including phone handling, record maintenance, and volunteer coordination. Set up and clean daily coffee, tea, dining, and program areas while maintaining inventory. Plan and promote monthly activity calendars and ensure compliance with food safety and local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- More than one year of related experience
- Possession of a valid state driver's license issued for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
- Clean driving record
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of senior center services
- Knowledge of food service and safety guidelines
- Knowledge of basic driving skills and experience driving a large van or small bus
- Skill to interact with coworkers, senior citizens, and staff courteously and clearly
- Good customer relations
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, coworkers, elected and appointed officials and members
- Skill in developing and implementing senior programs and activities
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in the operation of computers and general office machines
- Experience leading, instructing, and engaging adults in arts and crafts activities
- Must be able to lift light and heavy objects
- Must be able to climb onto and off senior bus daily
