Job Summary
Develop the overall sourcing strategy for MRO, Equipment, and Capital commodities through market research, supplier relationship management, and strategic contract negotiation. Provide regular market intelligence on pricing trends and competitor threats to support executive decision-making on cost and inventory opportunities. Establish and manage contracts with key suppliers to ensure supply continuity, price stability, and inventory flexibility via Kanban or JIT methods. Conduct supplier business reviews to drive year-over-year cost reductions using should-cost modeling and implement pricing programs across global manufacturing sites. Support cost and supply programs from inception through implementation, providing escalation support for supply gaps, quality issues, and service performance improvements. Mentor sourcing team members and lead negotiations for capital equipment, facility improvements, and vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or comparable experience
- 7-10 years of experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement function
- 3-5 years in a category leadership role including supply base development and contract negotiation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
- Conflict management and the ability to negotiate
- Organized and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Demonstrated decision making skills
- Teamwork orientated
- Hands on, collaborative, decisive self-starter
- Effective presentation skills and able to deliver insightful messages to external and internal audiences
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal business partners
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly
- Instills a sense of urgency and drives problems towards resolution
- Excellent written, oral and presentations skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and POWER POINT
Desired Qualifications
- APICS Certification preferred, but not required
