Senior Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

Job Summary
Manage the Political Violence and Political Risk Non-Natural Catastrophe portfolio, including Terrorism and War, by producing monthly classes of business reports and assisting with internal/external roll-ups. Lead analyst responsibilities for exposure management and catastrophe analytics, analyzing monthly variances and ensuring data governance across Arch portfolios. Prepare data for Group reporting and outwards reinsurance purchasing while supporting Event Response and ad hoc requests from underwriters and Catastrophe Managers. Develop and enhance analytics for the division, communicate complex Exposure Management concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and drive improvements to the Non-Natural Catastrophe Exposure Management framework within Arch.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in Insurance
- Experience working in a similar role, in a Lloyd's syndicate or similar
- Experience with Exposure Management approaches, including modelling and scenario calculation
- Good understanding of Exposure Management and modelling
- Strong understanding of Insurance gained in a relevant industry role
- Practical knowledge of insurance policies
- Excellent IT skills, including programming skills (eg. Excel, VBA and SQL)
- Analytical/technical mindset
- Strong drive to develop Exposure Management practices and processes
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within non-natural catastrophe classes advantageous, particularly Terrorism
