Job Summary
Manage the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner's casualty claims, assessing coverage, liability, and damages to recommend settlement strategies. Collaborate with trial counsel on mediations, arbitrations, and trials while preparing detailed litigation reports. Identify suspicious claims for SIU review and opportunities for third-party subrogation, maintaining accurate reserves and safeguarding confidential information. Oversee billing practices for outside and in-house counsel to ensure compliance and cost efficiency. Respond to inquiries from policyholders, attorneys, and witnesses, and assist the Claims Team Manager or represent the company before regulatory agencies. This role involves 10% travel and is available in a hybrid or fully remote format depending on proximity to hub locations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years managing complex and litigated casualty claims
- Deep expertise handling severe to catastrophic injuries and fatalities
- Southeast Casualty claims handling
- Expert knowledge of coverage, liability, and complex claims handling procedures
- Ability to effectively handle claims at the highest technical and complexity level
- Knowledgeable of state and federal laws in the adjuster's jurisdiction
- Full working knowledge of claims operations and procedures
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 7 years of directly related experience
- Ability to obtain proper licensing as required
- Active engagement and reliable attendance during training
- Candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zones
