Job Summary
Manage the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex auto and homeowner's casualty claims, assessing coverage, liability, and damages while recommending settlement strategies and escalating for authority review. Identify suspicious claims for subrogation opportunities and collaborate closely with trial counsel to attend mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Prepare detailed litigation reports, maintain accurate reserves, and safeguard confidential information across all claim files. Oversee billing practices for outside and in-house counsel to ensure compliance and cost efficiency. Respond to inquiries and provide guidance to policyholders, witnesses, attorneys, and claimants. This senior role supports the Complex Casualty Team in the Central Region, offering hybrid flexibility or full remote work with 10% travel for legal proceedings.
Required Qualifications
- Expert level knowledge of claims case handling practices, legal liability, general insurance policy coverage, and the state`s tort laws
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training
- 4 to 6 years directly related work experience
- At least two years of experience in a team leader capacity
- Licensing required in some states
- Active engagement and reliable attendance during training
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate with customers and conduct investigations
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
- Professionalism, empathy, and exceptional communication skills
- Must be located in Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones
- 10% travel for mediations, arbitrations, trials, or in-person events
