Job Summary
Conduct client-centered safety assessments, risk management planning, and crisis intervention for victims of crime and abuse. Advocate for clients with public agencies, provide referrals, and connect individuals with essential services and resources. Maintain accurate case records in the web-based system while participating in supervision, staff meetings, and community outreach activities. This role supports Safe Horizon's mission to assist survivors of violence through a trauma-informed, client-centered approach. Candidates must have at least one year of direct service experience in social services, with a preference for experience working with intimate partner violence survivors.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 1 year of prior direct service experience in a social service setting
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services
- Demonstrated ability to provide respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental support to victims of crime and abuse
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, be resourceful, and remain solution-focused
- Ability to work under pressure in a calm and reassuring manner
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with survivors of intimate partner and family violence and other victims of crime is preferred
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, or Korean is preferred
