Job Summary

Senior Career Development Coordinator for Career Exploration at West Texas A&M University ( Canyon, TX ). Focused on career advising/coaching for students and alumni, development and delivery of career exploration programs, administering career tools (including YouScience), and supporting internship opportunities. Responsibilities include individual and group coaching, orientation guidance for new/transfer students, maintaining resources and assessments, planning year-round programming to engage undeclared majors, facilitating mentoring and informational interviewing initiatives, coordinating career workshops and events, and ensuring up-to-date training and compliance. Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and two years of related experience; strong interpersonal and public speaking skills; proficiency with MS Office, databases, and video conferencing; ability to work in a collaborative, high-pace environment and manage multiple projects. Preferred: Master’s degree in higher education or related field; experience in career services, counseling, or related assessment tools (MBTI, YouScience, CliftonStrengths); professional licensure or certifications in counseling or related fields; Gallup strengths coaching; experience using assessment instruments and coordinating campus employment-related programming. Note: Not offering H-1B sponsorship; must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two (2) years of related experience
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students; community, business and Industry leaders; and University personnel required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, public speaking, written communication, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple demanding projects
  • Excellent computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Knowledge of database applications and adept with video conferencing technologies
  • Must be comfortable in and familiar with a team-centered, cross-trained, collaborative environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Professional demeanor
