Senior Capture Manager

Job Summary

Lead assigned capture efforts from qualification through contract award by developing comprehensive capture plans, executing win strategies, and managing bid/no-bid recommendations. Establish customer relationships with Government entities, industry partners, and prime contractors to shape opportunities prior to solicitation release. Conduct competitive assessments, develop teaming strategies, and transition capture activities into proposal development while maintaining accurate pipeline documentation in the CRM system. Provide regular status updates to executive leadership and adjust strategies as customer requirements evolve. Position requires 10 years of DoD capture experience, a Secret clearance, and up to 35% travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Department of Defense acquisition process
  • Strong understanding of capture management principles and best practices
  • Ability to develop capture strategies and executable capture plans
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze competitive environments and develop winning strategies
  • Ability to prioritize multiple captures simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required to meet proposal and capture deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Ten (10) years of experience supporting Department of Defense Business Development, Capture Management, Program Management, or related functions
  • Five (5) years leading competitive federal capture efforts
  • Demonstrated success developing capture strategies that resulted in contract awards
  • Experience supporting opportunities valued at $50M or greater
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD acquisition processes
  • Experience coordinating capture activities across technical, pricing, contracts, and proposal organizations
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation as required by customer contracts
  • A valid driver's license is required for insurance purposes
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to communicate effectively during virtual and in-person meetings
  • Position will travel up to 35% of the time, including occasional overnight travel

Desired Qualifications

  • Shipley Capture Certification or equivalent training
  • APMP Capture Practitioner or Professional certification
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR, NAVSEA, AFLCMC, SOCOM, USSOCOM, or other DoD acquisition organizations
  • Existing relationships within the Department of Defense and defense industry
  • Prior military service or defense industry experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance is preferred
