Senior Campaign Manager (7M Fixed Term)

Job Summary
Manage campaign topic selection, objectives, and tactics; lead the development of effective campaign strategies with credible theories of change and stakeholder input. Guide teams to set SMART objectives and implement sound strategies using data analysis and best practices, including grassroots activism, public education, and creative stunts. Integrate IDEA into all campaign components and build relationships with coalition partners to expand influence. Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and learning best practices are embedded across campaigns while developing skill-building resources for members and staff. Represent the campaign at Regional Conferences and AGM, delivering plenaries, workshops, and trainings. Support the National Director on crisis response efforts and conduct advocacy with government or serve as a spokesperson when required. This fixed-term role focuses on the Campaign to Defend Freedom of Expression and Peaceful Protest through the 2026 U.S. midterm election.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS and at least 7 years relevant experience
- MA/MS and 5 years relevant experience
- sufficient relevant work experience
- Experience planning and winning strategic campaigns on human rights issues
- Experience leading diverse teams in the development and implementation of impactful campaigns
- Experience creating effective strategies and implementing effective grassroots activism tactics and creative stunts
- Experience designing campaigns that helped grow and diversify a grassroots base and that advance IDEA
- Demonstrated success in leading teams in developing, testing, and evaluating innovative, creative, and effective campaign tactics
- Experience using digital tools including email, SMS, social media, and data analytics to achieve campaign victories that attract new AIUSA members
- Experience working cross-organizationally with managers of other units including Communications, Government Relations and Organizing staff
- High level experience lobbying government officials
- Experience as a spokesperson with media and the public
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and project management skills
- Excellent strategic campaigning, planning, and data analysis skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information, make critical decisions under pressure, and direct implementation for fast-moving campaigns
- Extensive experience in cross-organizational collaboration
- Demonstrated skill in building partnerships and communicating clearly with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience training and mentoring others
- Experience evaluating impact
- Experience implementing evaluation findings to strengthen subsequent work
- Excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Excellent team and project management skills
- Ability to embed inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) best practices into both strategy and operations
- Ability to occasionally travel
- Some weekends and weeknight work may be required
- Ability to conduct advocacy with government
- Ability to serve as campaign spokesperson
- Candidates must already have authorization to work in the United States that does not currently or in the future require AIUSA's intervention
