Senior CAD Technician - Highways

Job Summary
Senior CAD Technician for highways projects in Canada. Prepares engineering drawings (plans, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and other details) per standards, sets up project reference base files, manages sheets via sheet set manager, and ensures adherence to CAD standards and client quality processes. Works with AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop 3D design and corridor modeling, extract quantities, and collaborate with other CAD Technicians and Engineers. Experience with SharePoint and ProjectWise is a plus. Strong communicator with the ability to mentor junior CAD technicians and contribute to a team-focused, detail-oriented delivery. Role supports a hybrid work arrangement in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with opportunities for collaboration across a broad civil engineering team and a commitment to diversity and accommodations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of civil engineering CAD-related experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
- Experience with 3D design and corridor modelling in Civil3D
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of collaborative environments such as SharePoint and ProjectWise is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication in English
- Experience managing junior CAD technicians and developing team skills (asset)
- Ability to adhere to CAD standards and client-specific quality control processes
- Awareness of standards for drawings: plans, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and other details
- Ability to organize tasks and work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with highway/infrastructure projects and related CAD workflows
- Comfort with a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
- Willingness to collaborate within a large engineering/architecture/planning team
