Job Summary
Lead the CAD and drafting design activities in AECOM’s Energy team, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to produce design drawings for substation layouts, equipment, and associated utilities (including single line diagrams and secondary schematics). Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training on digital design tools and workflows (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise EDMS). Develop concept designs to meet industry standards, support delivery across primary/secondary/transmission-energy projects, and ensure quality and timeliness within budgets. Hybrid work arrangement available, with preference for Brisbane or Sydney offices. Strong collaboration across geographically distributed teams and with Australian energy clients (e.g., Transgrid, Ausgrid, Powerlink, Energex) is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Senior CAD Drafter
- 5+ years of CAD drafting experience in energy projects
- Experience leading CAD teams is an advantage
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Experience with ProjectWise EDMS or similar data environments
- Knowledge of HV design standards and energy project delivery
