Job Summary
Senior CAD Drafter-Designer at Hitachi Global Air Power US, Farmington, NM. Responsible for creating detailed AutoCAD drawings (2D and 3D) from specifications, generating layouts and assemblies for fabrication projects, and modifying models to meet defined specifications. Produce and modify standard drawings, compile Bill of Materials and specification sheets, and collaborate with shop personnel to incorporate design changes. Works both independently and as part of a team, adheres to project deadlines, maintains records, and ensures accurate documentation. Requires associate degree or certificate in drafting or related field with 3+ years of mechanical drafting experience in a manufacturing environment; strong mechanical aptitude; proficiency in AutoCAD; good math and blueprint-reading skills; and effective verbal/written communication.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or certificate in drafting or related field
- 3+ years related technical experience and education applicable to mechanical drafting in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes and tools
- Strong logical, analytical, and results-oriented problem-solving skills
- Good computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD
- Strong math, blueprint reading skills
- Basic electrical and software systems knowledge is ideal
- Team player and self-motivated
- Ability to work attentively and efficiently at producing high quality work
- Good verbal and written communication skills
