Job Summary
Senior CAD Designer Lead at HPAG in Chandler, AZ, responsible for owning the R&D design process end-to-end, creating CAD models in SolidWorks, building complex sheet metal and tubular assemblies, processing 3D scans to drive product development, and partnering with prototype engineering to move parts into automation and production. Must design manufacturable assemblies, revise parts per open instructions, and collaborate with engineering to deliver accurate drawings. Requires strong SolidWorks proficiency, automotive/aerospace design experience, tooling/fixtures knowledge, and a proactive, team-focused mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Strong SolidWorks skills with ability to manage complex assemblies
- 3 years - experience designing automotive or aerospace products
- Experience with tooling and fixtures; ability to bring 3D model into physical reality
- Working knowledge of machine work and processes for final parts
- Experience collaborating with an engineering team and producing accurate, measured drawings
- Creative mindset paired with discipline to translate ideas into manufacturable assemblies
- Self-motivated and assertive; able to thrive in a fast-paced shop
- Team-first attitude; prioritize team's success
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English
