Job Summary
Senior C Programmer responsible for developing software within the network data collection suite, primarily in C with some Python. Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, development, testing, documentation, and user support. Work on high-performance tools for collecting, processing, and analyzing large-scale network data (tens of billions of records per day). Contribute to documentation, deployment usability, and potential new tool development. Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback, and contribute to technical reports, presentations, and publications. Travel to customer sites and participate in use-case-oriented development with Linux-based environments; experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and Linux is preferred. Location-based postings indicate in-person work at Arlington, VA or Pittsburgh, PA; no sponsorship for employment visas is provided.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related highly quantitative discipline with ten years of applicable experience; or a MS degree in a relevant discipline with eight years of applicable experience; or a PhD in a relevant discipline with five years of applicable experience
- Travel: Periodic travel to customer sites, conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings is required to support the SEI's mission and research activities
- Security Clearance: You will be subject to a background investigation and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance
