Job Summary
Senior C#/.NET Engineer for 100% U.S.-based remote role supporting software systems for VA with Syms Strategic Group. Responsibilities include technical planning, requirements definition, test planning/execution, software systems integration, and production support. Develop and maintain backend .NET applications using C#, MVC, and .NET Core; implement RESTful APIs; design and optimize SQL Server databases with Entity Framework; leverage cloud platforms (Azure/AWS); participate in CI/CD pipelines; perform unit testing; contribute to agile processes (Scrum/Kanban); mentor junior developers; produce design documentation and participate in code reviews. Must have strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering/technical discipline
- Five (5) or more years of software development experience with .NET technologies
- Expertise in .NET Framework and .NET Core with strong C# skills
- Proficiency in backend development using MVC architecture and .NET Core
- Experience with RESTful APIs and other APIs
- Proficiency with SQL Server and Entity Framework
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS)
- Experience with version control (Git, TFS/TFVC)
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy)
- Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (NUnit/xUnit/MSTest)
- Proficiency with IDEs (Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and IaC
- Security best practices for web apps and APIs
- Ability to conduct code reviews and provide feedback
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization
- Experience with third-party libraries and SDKs
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) knowledge (optional)
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Public Trust (MBI) clearance or ability to obtain
- W2 employment status
- Remote work from US-based location required
