Job Summary
Senior Software Systems Engineer role focusing on .NET development (C#) with responsibilities spanning technical planning, requirements definition, test planning/execution, software systems integration, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications. You’ll contribute to full-stack development (back-end .NET with C#, MVC, .NET Core), unit testing (NUnit), and CI/CD deployment pipelines. Expected to ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications, provide production support, implement scalable long-term solutions within an Agile framework, interface with stakeholders on project requirements, promote best practices (test automation, modularization, security), collaborate across teams, document designs (diagrams, data flows, module descriptions), and utilize IDEs (Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git). Required proficiency includes RESTful APIs, SQL Server/Entity Framework, cloud familiarity (Azure, AWS), experience with version control (Git/TFS), CI/CD tools, unit testing, and strong problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities. Familiarity with DevOps and IaC, microservices and containerization, and security best practices for web applications and APIs is highly desirable. This is a fully remote, U.S.-based opportunity with a 100% remote stance and liaison to Veterans Affairs projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required with eight (8) or more years of experience; Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline along with five (5) or more years of experience; Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline along with three (3) or more years of experience
- Five (5) or more years of experience in software development using .Net technologies
- Experience with designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-level applications
- US Citizenship / Government clearance eligibility requirements
- Experience with CI/CD practices and tools
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
