Job Summary
Senior C#/.NET Engineer needed for a 100% US-based remote role with Syms Strategic Group. Responsibilities include technical planning, requirements definition, test planning/execution, software systems integration and support, full-stack development using .NET/C#, MVC architecture, REST APIs, CI/CD, and Agile practices. You will mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, ensure performance and security of web apps and APIs, collaborate with stakeholders, and document designs. Required: 5+ years in .NET, strong C#/MVC/.NET Core skills, SQL Server and Entity Framework, cloud familiarity (Azure/AWS), experience with REST APIs, CI/CD, NUnit/xUnit/MSTest, Git, Visual Studio/VS Code, and proven ability to work in Agile environments; US citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (with extended experience) and preferred advanced degrees. This role emphasizes delivering enterprise-level software, designing reusable building blocks, and supporting production deployments in a remote, security-conscious environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering/technical discipline (required) with eight+ years of experience; Master’s/PhD as applicable per preferred years
- Five (5) or more years of software development experience with .Net technologies
- Expertise in .Net framework and .Net Core with strong C# skills
- Proficiency in back-end development using MVC architecture
- Strong object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Experience with RESTful APIs and other APIs
- SQL Server and Entity Framework experience
- Cloud familiarity (Azure and AWS)
- Version control (Git, TFS/TFVC)
- CI/CD practices and tools
- Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest)
- Visual Studio / VS Code
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban)
- DevOps and IaC familiarity
- Security best practices for web apps and APIs
- Code reviews and performance optimization
- Mentoring/leadership capability
- Experience with microservices
- Containerization (Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
- EDI/X12 knowledge (preferred)
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
- Security clearance: Public Trust (MBI) eligibility
