Job Summary
Design and evolve the backend architecture of a brokerage accounting platform using C# 12 and .NET 8, building core modules with ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core. Ensure transactional consistency, optimize PostgreSQL performance, and design reliable integrations with external financial systems via Kafka or RabbitMQ. Review code with a focus on architecture and engineering quality while mentoring middle and junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance. Participate in key technical decisions regarding modular monolith design, clean architecture, and resilient integrations using circuit breaker patterns. Work closely with the team on production challenges and continuous platform improvement within a greenfield project.
Required Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience with C# 12 and .NET 8+
- Deep understanding of CLR internals: memory management, garbage collection, async/await, multithreading, and performance profiling
- Solid experience with ASP.NET Core (Web API, middleware, dependency injection)
- Entity Framework Core and ability to work with native SQL or Dapper when necessary
- Strong PostgreSQL expertise: indexing, transactions, isolation levels, locks, query optimization, EXPLAIN
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ in production environments
- Experience with Redis and caching strategies
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience designing modular monoliths or other maintainable backend architectures
- Understanding of Clean Architecture and clear module boundaries
- Experience designing reliable systems with transactional consistency, idempotency, and the Outbox pattern
- Understanding of resilient integrations using retries, timeouts, and Circuit Breaker patterns
- Understanding of financial systems where precision, auditability, and reconciliation are essential
- Understanding of multi-tenant application architecture
- Experience designing REST / gRPC APIs
- Understanding of versioning and idempotent API design principles
- Experience with event-driven integrations and message queues
- Ability to quickly understand external financial protocols and integrations (FIX or ISO 20022)
- Experience with metrics, tracing, and centralized logging tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or Loki
- Understanding of OAuth2/JWT, encryption, OWASP principles, and role-based access models
- Experience conducting code reviews with a focus on architecture and engineering quality
- Experience mentoring middle and junior engineers
- Good testing practices with xUnit/NUnit, Moq, Testcontainers, and integration testing
- Ability to decompose complex technical tasks and explain technical decisions clearly
