Job Summary
Senior C#/.Net Developer - II for Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is a 100% remote, U.S.-based role (VA department) focusing on full-stack development using .Net, C#, MVC, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD within an Agile framework. Responsibilities include technical planning, requirements definition, test planning and execution, software systems integration, stakeholder liaison, design documentation, code reviews, and mentorship of junior developers. Must have extensive .Net/.Net Core experience, MVC, OOP and design patterns, REST APIs, SQL Server with Entity Framework, cloud familiarity (Azure/AWS), CI/CD tooling, NUnit/xUnit/MSTest, Git/TFS, testing and performance optimization, and strong communication skills. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent) with five-plus years of experience, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Location is remote within the U.S. with Annapolis, MD as a named locality in practice; there is an explicit restriction on certain states for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with .Net framework and .Net Core, with a strong understanding of C#
- Proficiency in developing back-end applications using MVC architecture and .Net core
- Strong Knowledge of OOP and design patterns
- Experience with RESTful APIs and other APIs
- Proficiency in SQL Server and Entity Framework
- Familiarity with Azure and AWS
- Experience with Git and TFS/TFVC
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools
- Experience with NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest
- Proficiency with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality software
- Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and IaC
- Understanding of security best practices for web applications and APIs
- Code reviews and performance optimization
- Experience with third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs relevant to .Net development
- Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with eight or more years of experience
- Citizenship: US Citizenship required
- Security Clearance: Public Trust (MBI)
- Education and experience minimums for advanced degrees as described
