Job Summary
Senior C&I Automation Engineer accountable for electrical substations and power plants automation across Wind, Solar PV, BESS, and Hybrid projects. Provides technical leadership on control system architectures, grid compliance strategies, cybersecurity posture, and lifecycle delivery from development through commissioning and operation. Drives design reviews, vendor and contractor interfaces, and collaboration with TSOs/DSOs to ensure compliance with grid codes and performance objectives. Skill set includes PPC/HPPC, SCADA, PLCs/RTUs, IEC 61850/IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus, OPC UA, and robust control-system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Works within an international team under a hybrid work model (3+2) with emphasis on continuous improvement, lifecycle optimization, and stakeholder management across the renewable energy portfolio.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Electrical Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 8–12 years of engineering experience in electrical automation, relay protection, control systems, substation communication systems, renewable energy projects, power systems, or related industries
- Proven experience with PPC, HPPC, SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, substation communication networks, and renewable energy asset integration
- Excellent understanding of grid codes, TSO and DSO requirements, ancillary services, control system architectures, communication protocols, and automation system testing and commissioning requirements
- Technical expertise in substation communication protocols and automation technologies, including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101/104, Modbus, OPC UA, and related industrial communication standards
- Strong knowledge of electrical automation system design, cybersecurity requirements, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational support activities in compliance with regulatory and international standards
- Strategic and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to analyze complex technical and operational challenges and communicate decision-critical insights clearly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, OEMs, consultants, utilities, and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and operational priorities simultaneously while delivering high-quality results in dynamic environments
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
