Job Summary
Senior Buyer responsible for developing a deep understanding of global poultry market dynamics, particularly chicken price movements, to drive informed sourcing decisions and competitive negotiations for finished products at a global level. Lead supplier negotiations (short- to mid-term), manage RFQs and tender processes, oversee contract execution and delivery, ensure full compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements, raise and track purchase orders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Commercial, R&D, Quality, Legal, Supply Chain) to align activities. Partner with Marketing and R&D to identify and launch new products and develop supplier specifications to support supplier approval processes. Maintain procurement documentation for audits and compliance, monitor supplier performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Food Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) – preferred
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience working within FMCG or food manufacturing environments
- Proven experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
