Job Summary
Senior Buyer at Topcon Positioning Group responsible for determining material requirements from production schedules, planning and monitoring material movement, and managing suppliers to obtain price, availability, and lead times. Responsibilities include running open order/forecast reviews, issuing POs, updating SAP/ERP records, tracking deliveries, resolving PO/discrepancies, managing MRB and non-inventory shippers, updating price info records, conducting safety stock analysis, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams on build plans, and expediting assemblies as needed. Requires collaboration with procurement, SCM, warehouse, and production, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with SAP/Oracle, BOM/PLM systems, and ERP processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within manufacturing planning, procurement and relevant Supply Chain Management activities
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with SAP or Oracle
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with item and BOM creation and management
- 3 years’ experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system like Arena, Agile or SAP
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across various functions, roles, organizations and cultures (SCM, warehouse and production)
- Accountability, self-motivation and follow through
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Proven knowledge in MRP system (SAP)
