Job Summary
Sourcing and evaluating suppliers for components and fabricated assemblies while negotiating pricing, lead times, and payment terms. Develop procurement strategies aligned with operational goals, forecast needs with production and finance teams, and manage purchasing budgets to drive cost reduction. Negotiate vendor contracts ensuring compliance and quality standards, lead ISO audits, and monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking. Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions. Mentor junior buyers on sourcing best practices and cross-functionally resolve product availability and delivery issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 – 7+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in a senior or lead role within electronics manufacturing or a similar industry
- Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management
- Experience with sourcing, vendor evaluations, and complex procurement processes
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain processes
- Knowledge of market trends, pricing strategies, and product sourcing
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident due to ITAR regulations
Desired Qualifications
- experience with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) defense related products is a plus
