Job Summary
Provide an effective procurement service for sub-contractors and develop a regional supply chain aligned with the GGP project demand. Propose procurement strategies, structure the supply chain, and manage performance to drive cost benefits while ensuring best overall value for money. Monitor market pricing trends, assess new supply chain members, and integrate with other regional units to coordinate strategic procurement from the pre-construction stage through to commissioning. Ensure a robust negotiation process is applied across all projects within the Leeds-based operating unit.
Required Qualifications
- Experience within a procurement role
- CIPS accredited
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of work practices, processes and procedures within the construction process from pre-construction stage and into construction stage
- Good interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively with all staff and external contacts at all levels
- Must be happy to travel to site
- Must be able to drive
- Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within a procurement role, preferably gained within a construction or civil engineering environment
- Ideally with experience in Substations or OHL
- Knowledge of key trades for Power, Transmission & Distribution projects / supply chain
