Job Summary
The Senior Buyer is responsible for generating and executing CPSR-compliant purchase orders, managing supplier issues including cost, quality, and delivery, and maintaining professional relationships with suppliers. The role involves leading negotiations, understanding military specifications, and adhering to procurement laws. The Senior Buyer will track cost savings, communicate supplier performance, and serve as the primary contact for supplier relations. The position requires strong negotiating skills and the ability to manage supplier agreements while ensuring compliance with contract provisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- 5 years of experience in purchasing
- Ability to understand military specs and read blueprints
- Ability to understand and adhere to procurement laws
- Knowledge of price and cost analysis
- Strong negotiating skills
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active DOD security clearance or ability to obtain clearance
