Job Summary
Senior Buyer responsible for sourcing direct materials for production, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and leading data-driven decisions. Performs complex data analysis to recommend actions, leads process-improvement initiatives based on insights to strengthen ITW NASF capabilities, and supports forecasting to provide early warnings of positive or negative supply-chain trends. Supervises the purchasing function (including one direct report), sets performance and deadline goals aligned with company plans, and ensures compliance with purchasing policies. Identifies potential suppliers, issues RFQs, reviews requisitions, negotiates terms and pricing, monitors market trends, and provides data-based risk alerts to leadership. Requires ERP experience (SAP preferred), proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a track record of negotiation and leadership in a manufacturing procurement environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or 6 years’ working experience comparable with the position
- Prior ERP experience is required
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP system is preferred
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with suppliers
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general office equipment
- Detail-oriented and well organized
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
- Ability to function independently with sound judgment
- Ability to train, lead and coach direct report(s)
- Strong leadership characteristics
