Job Summary
Purchase and plan materials, components, and services for existing product lines, ensuring quality, delivery, price, and total cost alignment. Contact suppliers to obtain and evaluate quotes, place orders, and expedite critical deliveries to streamline production workflow. Negotiate contracts as needed and advise management on supplier failures or production delays. Maintain purchase orders, change orders, and system documentation in accordance with legal requirements while reporting buyer and supplier performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field
- 5 years of experience in a buyer role
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to consistently achieve short- and long-term business results
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks when needed
- Ability to follow through on commitments and hold team members accountable
- Good attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- APICS Certification
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in the medical industry
- Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
