Job Summary
Release and manage Purchase Orders with accuracy and urgency while negotiating Long-Term Agreements and Purchase & Sale Agreements. Administer material surcharge agreements to ensure cost alignment and share performance metrics with suppliers to drive continuous improvement. Coordinate supplier visits to Solar Turbines facilities and own the commercial relationship as the primary point of contact. Serve as the liaison between suppliers and internal teams, collaborating with stakeholders to gather business requirements and support procurement capability deployment. Deliver responsive internal customer support and offer guidance throughout the purchasing process. This role supports the Global Supply Chain Team at Solar Turbines, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc., manufacturing mid-sized industrial gas turbines used in energy production and processing applications worldwide.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
- MUST have some experience negotiating contracts, purchase part costs, and managing supplier relationships
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English
- Visa for US travel
- Sentri or Global Entry for US travel
- Professional, polite, and respectful in all interactions
- Confident and outgoing, with the ability to be firm when needed
- Proactive and collaborative, with a passion for continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment
- Spanish (native)
- English (professional proficiency)
- Onsite 5 days per week
- No Remote
- Occasional (US & Southern California) travel
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques
- Extensive experience in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Familiarity with matrix management and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong understanding of cost management and category management principles
- Experience in contracts administration and compliance
- Ability to analyze procurement data and present findings to leadership
- Sentri or Global Entry for US travel (preferred)
