Job Summary
Senior Buyer responsible for supplier relationships, strategic sourcing, and inventory optimization in a fast-paced manufacturing/operations environment. Manages purchase orders in the ERP system, coordinates with program and shop managers, conducts cost justification and competitive analysis, identifies and onboards alternative sources, leads supplier negotiations on pricing, contracts, lead times, stocking agreements, and payment terms, and drives cost-reduction initiatives. Partners with Sales, Engineering/Solutions, Buying, Planning, Inventory, and Production; analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities; and supports risk mitigation and process improvements across the supply chain. Requires strong analytical skills, ownership of direct materials, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field required
- 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience negotiating supplier contracts and managing strategic vendor relationships
