Job Summary
Design, develop, and manage complex business intelligence solutions including dashboards, reports, and visualizations that guide business decisions. Partner with Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, and other core functions to collect, structure, and validate data, then audit and reconcile it to ensure accuracy. Automate manual reporting processes and build scalable, reusable solutions while applying AI tools like Claude and Microsoft Copilot to accelerate development, code generation, and report QA. Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders, translating technical analysis into plain-language recommendations and defending methodology when challenged. Mentor less experienced colleagues as the Power BI subject matter expert and conduct peer reviews of work.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of data analytics or related experience
- Advanced SQL, data modeling, and visualization
- recognized Power BI subject matter expertise
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including: OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines, Dataflows, Power BI integration, and Python for Fabric Notebooks
- Solid grasp of database structures, relationships, and dependencies
- Strong critical thinking and proactive problem-solving - comfortable working from an ambiguous request to a defined, scalable solution
- Strong written and verbal communication with business stakeholders and senior leaders; able to present findings and influence decisions without technical jargon
- Peer mentoring and peer review capabilities
- Intermediate insurance domain knowledge and understanding of MGA operations; insurance industry experience preferred
- Advanced, hands-on AI fluency - daily working use of tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, charts, and graphing)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Tableau or other BI tools a plus
